- Musical key
- The musical key is the group of notes a song is built around, named by its tonic and mode — for example F♯ minor or C major.
- BPM (tempo)
- BPM stands for beats per minute: how fast a song's pulse is. Most pop and dance music sits between roughly 90 and 130 BPM.
- Camelot wheel
- The Camelot wheel is a DJ notation that maps each key to a code from 1A to 12B so harmonically compatible keys sit next to each other.
- Harmonic mixing
- Harmonic mixing is blending tracks whose keys are compatible — adjacent Camelot codes or the relative major/minor — so transitions sound smooth.
