How to make a slowed + reverb song

Three steps, no upload, no account.

1

Load your song

Drop in an MP3, WAV, FLAC or other audio file. It's decoded locally — nothing leaves your device.

2

Slow it down and add reverb

The Slowed + Reverb preset sets the speed to 80% and adds reverb as soon as your song loads. Drag the Speed and Reverb sliders to taste and preview the result instantly.

3

Export WAV or MP3

Render the result in your browser and download a lossless WAV or a compressed MP3.

Slowed + reverb settings that work

Starting points for the classic sound. Adjust by ear.

Speed: about 80–90%

Slowed + reverb edits usually sit somewhere around 80–90% of the original speed. The preset uses 80%; move closer to 90% for a subtler effect.

Reverb: about 20–40%

The preset sets reverb to 32%. Lower it if the vocals get washed out, or raise it for a spacier sound. The slider goes up to 60%.

Pitch: 0 to −2 semitones

This tool slows the song without changing its pitch by default. For the lower, tape-slowed sound, drag Pitch down 1–2 semitones.

Preserve voice: on

Keeps vocals sounding natural while you shift pitch. Turn it off for a more extreme, stylized effect.

Slowed + reverb, explained

Slowed + reverb
A remix style where a song is slowed down and given a long reverb tail for a dreamy, spacious mood. It became popular through YouTube and TikTok edits.
Reverb
The sense of space you hear when sound bounces around a room. Adding reverb to a track makes it feel like it's playing in a bigger space.
Sped up and nightcore
The opposite edit. Raise the speed above 100% (up to 150% here) and, for the nightcore sound, raise the pitch a few semitones too.

Frequently asked questions

Is this slowed and reverb generator free?

Yes. It's completely free, with no account, watermark or limits beyond a 10-minute file length. Everything runs in your browser.

Is my song uploaded anywhere?

No. Your file is decoded and processed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.

How do I make a slowed and reverb song?

Load your audio file. The Slowed + Reverb preset is applied automatically: 80% speed with reverb. Adjust the speed, reverb and pitch to taste, preview it, then export WAV or MP3.

Does slowing a song down lower its pitch?

Not in this tool. Speed and pitch are independent, so the song slows down at its original pitch. For the classic lower, tape-slowed sound, drag the Pitch slider down 1–2 semitones.

Can I speed a song up instead?

Yes. The speed slider runs from 50% to 150%, so you can make sped-up edits too. For a nightcore-style sound, raise the pitch a few semitones as well.

What files can I use and export?

Load MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A and most common audio formats. Export to lossless WAV or compressed MP3.

Is there a length limit?

Files up to 10 minutes are supported in the browser.

Can I post my slowed + reverb edit online?

A slowed + reverb edit of someone else's song is still based on their recording, so posting it can trigger copyright claims. Check the rights before you publish, and use music you own or have permission to edit.
